Larry Chowning took over sixty photographs for the story "Trapping remains popular among some county sportsmen." The article was published in the Southside Sentinel, January, 24, 1985. Larry visited J.D, Davis of Locust Hill, Virginia and accompanied him on a hunt. Davis was an experienced trapper of red and gray fox, otter, raccoon, muskrat and beaver.
