Larry visited J.D, Davis of Locust Hill, Virginia and accompanied him on a hunt. Davis was an experienced trapper of red and gray fox, otter, raccoon, muskrat and beaver.

Haynie, Jr. Photos were taken to accompany the story "The belle of the bay," a busy yard turns out a classy wooden boat for a Chesapeake Bay gillnetter and rod-and-reel fisherman, by Larry S.
