Description |
Larry Chowning took photos and wrote the story "Chesapeake crabbers challenge the conventional," for National Fisherman Magazine, January, 1993, pages 39-41. This material also developed into Chapter 19 of Chesapeake Legacy, Tools and Traditions, "Bottom-line crab potting." Don Hubbard and his sons, Chris and Jeff, of Chase, Maryland pioneered a technique of fishing a 25 pot "bottom line" to catch blue crabs. Their boat, Defiance III, was custom built for them by Duffy & Duffy Boats of Brooklin, Maine. |
