Collection of rare black and white and color negatives spanning the 20th Century. Photos of schooners, bugeyes, deckboats, log canoes, and a variety of commercial vessels in the Chesapeaeke Bay region taken by the late Dr. A.L. Van Name, Jr. The photo collection also includes images of skiffs on Staten Island and large vessels in New York Harbor. The negatives were donated by Larry Chowning, who accepted the negatives as a gift from Billy Van Name, Dr. Van Name's son. |
